ART USAGE

Q. "Can I use your art for my personal websites or upload it on dA or elsewhere?
A. Please do not use my art in any way, credit or no credit, without my consent. This includes, but is not limited to: image hosting sites, Tumblr, Facebook, your own personal sites, image boards, Youtube, etc.

Q. "Can I use your work for stock or to create bases?"
A. Please do not use my art for stock or bases. If you're looking for stock resources, you may find what you're looking for at The-Stock-Directory (please be sure to read their FAQ and always respect the individual stock artist's terms of use!)

Q. "You made a gift for me or we did a trade, can I use it for my website, etc.?"
A. Yes! If I made something for you, that is my gift to you and you are welcome to use it! The only thing I ask is that you not claim that you made it or use it to make money without consulting me first.

Q. "Can I make my own character(s) from species you created?"
A. While I appreciate the interest, my species are closed at this time! Sorry!

Q. "Can I draw you something/can I draw your character(s)?"
A. Of course; I'd be honored! The only thing I ask is please no hateful or fetish content, otherwise, oh my gosh, yes!

Q. "Can I draw your character(s) with mine/other DA members?"
A. Unless we're good friends, due to past incidents that have put me in awkward situations, I generally prefer that this be a thing between myself and friends/people I've known for a while. I also don't want to put others in uncomfortable situations, so it would mean a lot if you check first to avoid that. I truly do appreciate, and am flattered and humbled by, the fact that people have an interest in my work and like my creations enough to want to draw them with their own, more than I can even put into words, so please don't take it the wrong way. I hope you can understand! :saddummy:

GENERAL

Q. "Will you watch me?"
A. Please don't ask me to watch you. :saddummy:

Q. "Can I watch you?"
A. If you want to! :dummy: The only thing I ask: Please don't ask me for a watch in return. I don't do watch for watch. Otherwise of course, and thank you very much!

Q. "Will you give me some points?"
A. Please don't ask me for points. (This is basically begging for money) Also, please don't use my page as a means to advertise that you're asking for them. This counts for llamas as well as any other form of advertisement. Such messages may be flagged as spam.

Q. "Will you enter my contest and/or provide prizes for it?"
A. Please don't ask me to enter contests. I will if I have an interest, but I don't do so by request.

Q. "Will you join this group?"
A. You can invite me/request my art if you want to, just please don't continue to send me invitations if I don't join. I'm a little picky with groups. Please be aware that I will not join or allow my work into any groups focused around hatred, negativity or fetishes, this includes "anti" groups.

Q. "Can we be friends?"
A. This is kind of an awkward question, and one that I've always struggled to answer. I love making new friends, but I feel like it's something that kind of has to happen naturally over time. It would be a little strange, for example, to ask this to a random person on the street; to me, it's really the same online. Please understand that this doesn't mean I'm against friendships or that we won't be friends, but the friends I've made didn't come from people asking on either side. I hope that makes sense!

Q. "How do I customize my page/folders/etc. with CSS?"
A. You need to  be a subscriber. eCSSited is a great place to find both templates and tutorials!

Q. "Person X is being mean to me, stole my art, etc.!"
A. My page is not the place to go for such issues. If you need assistance, please contact the Help Desk!

Q. "Do you use any instant messengers/wanna chat?"
A. I don't have instant messengers, but you're welcome to send me a note! Just be aware that I'm pretty shy and not always best conversationalist. :saddummy:

Q. "How come you won't answer my comment(s)/note(s)?"
A. It's either already been answered here, I'm busy, don't know what to say or I'm choosing not to respond for my own reasons.

Q. "I think I've seen your stuff somewhere before. Do you post your art elsewhere?"
A. If you've seen my art in places not listed on my front page and it wasn't made for the person posting it, it's most likely being used without my permission. You can contact me privately with links to the art in question and any other information you have regarding the situation if you feel so inclined, but please do not spam or be vulgar with the other party. while I understand the temptation, It's really counterproductive and can end up getting you in trouble. Civility can go a long way, and it's generally better to not interact with them at all and simply handle it through those in charge of the site itself. I'd like to express my deepest appreciation for those who've brought such situations to my attention in the past. Your good deeds have not gone unnoticed!

Q. "Will you draw my character?"
A. Nope. :B

Q. "What is Min?"
A. Min is my character. She is a  Gorgian; an alien race of my own creation: savagebinn.deviantart.com/art/…

Q. "Is there a completed story of Min posted anywhere?"
A. Unfortunately no, as it would probably span out longer than half of the Harry Potter series if it were to be written out in a complete, linear story form at the pace I would want it to go (a good chunk of which occurs before she ever meets Zim and has her disturbing little adventures with Nana on the streets.) I have the basic story down pretty solid in my mind, but since my niche is in drawing, the only writing I have up at this point that are somewhat presentable are a few short stories that occur within the story, as well as episode concepts, individual pictures, and short/rough storyboard type things for my own reference. It's something on my bucket list, for sure, but as I don't have my own studio complete with hundreds of Binny clones (that would be AWESOME, though) I can only put out what my own health, time, and resources allow.

Q. "How come you make so many gifts for people, but you won't draw for ME?!"
A. Because I don't have to. I like to give gifts, but I don't do free art for random people, and I don't like being pestered, threatened or guilted about making gifts for people. Please respect that.

Q. "Will you ever take trades or commissions?
A. I don't have any future trade or commissions system planned at this time. If this ever changes, there will most likely be a journal on it.

Q. "Can you teach me how to draw?"
A. I'm afraid I can't! There's no quick fix or magic back door people take to create their pictures or whatever style they have. Just practice, practice, practice! I can't teach you how to specifically 'draw faces or bodies this way', and aside from that, this isn't the best place to look for a teacher. I still have a long, long way to go myself, but if you want my advice, this would be it: Study from life, sign up for classes, and *invest in some books! The only real way is to dedicate yourself!
*I personally suggest that you not to get any of the 'how to draw anime/cartoon' type books, at least not as a starting point. While anime and cartoons are a beautiful and valid form of art, they are highly stylized, and you will need a basic grasp on anatomy and other concepts before getting into that. That's just my suggestion, though!

Q. "Can you look at/tell me what you think of my characters/artwork [link]?"
A. Please don't post links to your art or websites on my page. If you're looking for a place to share your work, the Thumbshare Forum is a much better place.

Q. "Will you critique my art?"
A. I don't comment or critique on request. Please don't ask me to.

Q. "I don't like your watermarks/signature! Can you remove/change them?"
A. No. I'm aware that watermarks generally don't 'add' to pictures, but it's the sacrifice some artists make in order to give a tiny bit of protection to their work. Please don't watch me if you find this to be a problem.

Q. "Hi Min/Sepia/(insert one of my character's names here)!"
A. Okay, I know that one wasn't wasn't a question, but please call Binny. Contrary to what some seem to think, I am not an animal, alien or any other manner of mythical creature. I'm a human being and quite content to be so. Also, please don't try to communicate with me through "roleplay".

Q. "What programs do you use to make your digital work?"
A. I normally use CS3 unless otherwise stated.

Q. "Why are there suicide hotlines on your page?"
A. I lost my father to suicide in late 2012 and it has effected me deeply. I've also struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts for many years, but have been fortunate enough to have a support network in my amazing grandparents, which I think is incredibly important and something everyone needs. I don't want anyone else to have to go through what we did. I want others to be able to have help and someone to talk to if they're going through this, so I keep it on my page in the hopes that it may help others struggling with this serious issue.

Q. "Why are there so many faqs in your journal?"

A. It saves me a lot of repetition. I realize some of the answers are kind of blunt, and it's not my intention to offend anyone, it simply helps keep me from being asked the same things and having to give essentially the same responses over and over again. It's as much for your convenience as it is for mine! :dummy:

*Any notes asking questions already answered here or covered in my FAQs will most likely be ignored. Thanks for reading! :peace:
