Okay, we've got five entries now and it seems Sep's been the popular choice so far. I wasn't expecting that, but it's not a bad thing. There's some super cute and pretty pictures already and it's been fun so far seeing other's interpertations of them. I hope to be seeing more entries in the future and thank you to those who've participated so far.



I've decided to hold another contest, and this time, You get to choose from five of my creatures to draw. Please see below for the Character refs and contest info~

Below is a list of the five you can draw. You can draw one, some or all of them if you choose.

Chill Refs and info:


Species Arctic/Fennec Fox mix- fantasy

Notes:

• Please refer to the more recent refs provided.

• Her muzzle can be drawn either with a lighter grey all over fadding over her face (this is my prefered style) or with a hard line on the muzzle with the darker shade going down the top of the nose. Again, I prefer the first.

• Her tail and ears are very large, (especially the tail!) this is not an anatomical mistake on my part, but rather an important part of her design.

• It's not required but she can be drawn with wings if you like. They can be whatever style you like, chibi or large, as long as they're very light blue. Glow and sparkle effects welcome.

• You can draw her with her mate Kisiro if you choose, but it is not required.

• Very light grey please.

Sepia Refs and info:


Species: Floppy eared Goat- fantasy

Notes:

• (see ref sheet for more detailed info) She's a bit smaller/shorter than Chill, but not by too much. Her feet are hooves while her fingers end in the same color as the hooves. Her spots can be soft colored or cell shaded.

Snuffles refs and info:


Species: Fantasy species

Notes:

• He is very much a work in progress, so you can play with his design alittle as long as it's still close (i.e. he still has his horn, ears and fin tail with similar colors and markings). He has a cresent moon on his side with spots or stars (you could do one or both, play with it) and his tail can be semi-transtparent with light spots. He doesn't have claws or teeth, he walks on all fours and is a good swimmer.

• Nostrils are uplifted swirls, he's about the size of a pony/small horse but a bit rounder.

Lola Refs and info:


Species: Duckbill Platypus

Notes:

• She doesn't have as 'human like' a body as Chill or Sep, her legs are shorter and all around she's more built for swimming. Her tail can be drawn two ways, as fur of as a grey paddle shaped tail. I prefer the fur but it's your choice. I haven't drawn her with 'human hair', just a small tuft in back, but you can try it if you want. I'd like it to be the same color as her fur if you do, though.

• Shorter and stouter than Chill and Sep.

• Hands and feet are webbed.

• She'll often have her fish friend near her (see pictures)

Ginger refs and info:


Species: Dragon

Notes:

• She has a sharp, beak-like mouth. You can't tell in the pictures, but by comparison she is much larger than the others. breathes fire, flies, you know, typical dragon stuff.

• Very strong and sturdy build. She is not affected by lava or fire.


Rules

Your entry must:


Contain one or more of the characters listed above.

Have some kind of backround. It doesn't have super fancy, just don't have the subject sitting in a blank white space.

Show effort. (effortless entries will not be counted)

Have it included somewhere in the description that the piece is for this contest and the characters in it were created by me.



Your entries will not be accepted if:

You are blocked from my page.

You are banned from DA.

They contain sexual, gory/violent or fetish-themed content.

I find your entries to be traced, recolored or overly-refferenced from another picture.


Questions

Who's judging, how are the entries judged?

I will be doing the judging myself. I don't trust group votes or polls.

The entries will be judged based apon:

Quality- The composition, style, beauty and overall skill shown in the piece.

Effort- Not the same as quality, effort is based apon how the piece compares to the rest of your individual gallery and how much time and detail you've put into it.

Creativity- Interesting and dynamic poses. Creative backrounds, ect.

Q. Does my skill/talent matter?
A. It does matter in that the overal quality of the picture will play a very large part in the judging process. However, your effort also plays a part. If an artist more skilled than you enters but their picture looks rushed/not done to the best of their ability it could turn the vote in your favor.

Q. Can I draw my character/creature in the picture with yours?
A. No.

Q. Can I draw more than one of your characters listed for the contest? Will it increase my chances?
A. You can draw one, two, three or all of them if you want, interacting or just in the picture together. It may or may not increase your chances; drawing a group picture does take more time and could add to the 'effort' factor, but overall, I'm more interested in beauty and quality rather than how many you can draw.

Q. Are literature submissions accepted?
A. Nope, sorry. It's a drawing contest.

Q. Can I draw it traditionally or does it have to be digital/does it matter?
A. You may draw it digitally or traditionally, whatever you feel more comfortable with or think will bear the best result. The media itself will not increase or decrease your chances.

Q. Am I allowed to enter more than one picture and will this increase my chances?
A. You can enter as many pictures as you like, but please be aware that they will be judged on an individual basis and it will not increase your chances just because you drew a bunch of pictures. Also, only one picture per contestant can win. I'm looking for quality here, not quantity.

Q. Can I enter an older drawing I did of your character(s) before?
A. Nope, sorry. It has to be a new piece.

Q. Can I draw them in full human/animal forms?
A. Not for this particular contest no. They have to be anthro.

Requests-I do not do requests of any kind. This also goes for "suggestions" so don't bother.

Art trades- I'll usually be the one to approach about trades, but you can ask me. I don't normally do trades unless you're a good friend or I find your artwork exeptional. If I say no, please don't pester me or whine about it. For my rules on art trades, see here: [link] Those are the rules and they are not subject to negotiation.

Commissions- Not available. If comissions ever do become available they will go by the same rules as trades.

Gifts- Don't ask, don't whine. I'll give gifts when and to whom I choose. Asking for gifts pretty much guarentees you won't be getting any from me.

Q. "Will you watch me?"
A. No. It's kind of rude to ask that in the first place... It also puts me in a very akward situation.

Q."Can I watch you?"
A. If you want to, yes. You don't have to ask me, but please don't expect or ask me for a watch in return.

Q. "Will you consider joining this club?"
A. No. I do belong to a few clubs, but I'll be the one to approach the club privately if I wish to join. Please do not advertise your clubs on my page.

Q. "Wanna be friends?"
A. Again, No. I know that sounds mean, but it's very akward to be asked this and I don't think you'd ask that to a random person on the street. Please understand that this doesn't mean I'm against friendship or that we'll never be friends, but the friends I've made didn't come from asking on either side. I hope that makes sense.

Q. "Do you use any instant messengers?"
A.I don't give out that kind of information to just anyone, so please stop asking me. Anything you need to say to me should be able to be said through DA.

Q. "Where are you from/ how old are you?"
A. It doesn't matter. c:

Q. "Hey! I think I've seen your stuff somewhere before! Do you post your art elsewhere?"
A. NO. DeviantART is the one and only site that I post my artwork. If you've seen it elsewhere, it is stolen and I ask that you please contact me immediately with links to the art in question and any other information you have reguarding the thieve(s) so that I may handle it from there. You can also help out by contacting the admins (if they have them) of whatever site the thieves are using with links to the originals along with a description explaining that the work is stolen. I'd like to express my deepest appreciation for those who've brought such situations to my attention in the past. Your good deeds have not gone unnoticed.

Q. "Will you draw my chatacter?"
A. No.

Q. "Will your character go out with mine?"
A. NO. (people really do ask me this and it's creepy)

Q. "Well how come you make so many gifts for people, but you won't draw for ME you mean aweful person?!!"
A. Because I have no obligation to draw for you. I like to give gifts, but I am not a request taker. I draw for my friends as well as those who inspire me and even the occasional random person for a surprise. I really enjoy making people happy with my art, but I do not enjoy people pestering me, so please respect that and don't ask me to make you stuff. It's my choice.

Q."How come you won't do a trade with me?!!"
A. Because I don't consider trades to be favors to people. They're the closest thing I'm able to do to comissions. I decline way more often than accept, so try not to take it to heart. This isn't meant to hurt or discourage anyone and it does NOT mean I think your artwork is "bad". I just have to be really, really inspired/amazed by your artwork and in the mood to accept. I'd appreciate it if you would not pester me as to why when I decline trades. If I say no please leave it at that and don't keep asking me after.


Q."Can I draw you something?"
A. (I know it seems very strange to include this here, and it's quite akward for me, believe me, but my reasons are comming up. This is mainly just concerning drawing my characters) PLEASE don't IF it's only becuase you want me to draw something for you in return. I don't like "surprise art trades". If you draw any of my characters, please be sure to include somewhere in the description that they were created by =savagebinn and show me when you put it up. And please, no sexual, hateful or fetish themes. Be appropriate.

Q. "Hey! Can you look at/tell me what you think of [link]?!"
A. No, and please don't post links to your art/websites on my page. It's rude and my page is not a billboard for your personal advertisement. If you're looking for a place to share your work, then the thumbshare forum is your friend: [link] Sharing your work is cool. I do it too, but at the appropriate place which is the thumbshare forums that da has made specifically for this, where it is encouraged rather than frowned apon.

Q. "I really like this picture but the watermark is ugly, can you remove/change it please?"
A. No. I'm aware that watermarks generally don't 'add' to pictures. It's the sacrefice a lot of artists make in order to give some protection to their work. So please don't complain and try to enjoy what you get. This goes for other artists as well. People put themselves at enough risk just putting their work online, so just respect that they're taking steps to protect their work and if it completely ruins it for you, well, I'm sorry, but I still ask that you move on and just find other art to look at, because I'm not removing them, and complaining doesn't accomplish anything.

Q. "OMG hi Chill/Sepia san!!!^.^"
A. NO. (and yes, I'm aware the above wasn't even a question) Please, call me savagebinn, or just Binny. I am not a fox, goat, dragon or any other manner of mythical creature and it creeps me out to be refered to as such. x:

Q. "What program do you use to make your digital art?"
A. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 for my digital art 99% of the time. Every once and a while I use MS Paint for Oekaki.

Q. "Why are there so many rules/conditions/warnings in your journal?!"
A. Long story short: I seem to get lots of creepy people on my page and although I really don't like having to display all this here, it saves me a lot of hassle and creepy/akward/annoying notes and messages. I realize some of the answers are kind of blunt, and it's not my intention to offend, but it gets very annoying being asked the same things over and over and over and over again. It's as much for your convenience as it is for mine.

I'm going to make this as simple as possible, I have a zero tolerance level for:

• Perverts (and "furverts")
• Obsessive people
• Annoying/irritating people in general
• Shit stirrers (See ~Ryuura's journal for explanation)
• Request/friend beggers ("do u want 2 b friends plz??!" "draw my char plz!")
• Creepy people in general (like fetish collector accounts and stuff)


Myself as well as a few friends of mine have been having problems as far as people respecting the critique settings on our deviations. I emplore you to be aware of and respect that when people mark their deviations as "Critique not desired" it means exactly what it says. This also includes not trying to hide the critique in a so-called "humerous and playful way", doing it on my front page, journal or mentioning that you've left out part of your planned comment due to the settings. Also, please do not use my deviations as a means to roleplay and don't use chat speak, example: "dis iz rlly gr8" (I am not a grammar nazi, I make spelling mistakes all the time, but just please be coherent and at least show that you've made an effort so that I can read what you're saying), don't make inuendo or perverted type comments and just generally don't be abnoxious. Please stay on topic and don't just burst out saying something completely irrelivant to the picture, example: "I LIKE CHEESE!", it's rude and irritating and not all that funny. Failing to abide by the above may result in being blocked from my page indeffinately, so I ask that you please respect them and if you are blocked, do not seek me out or pester me about it in any way as it could likely result in your ban and I'd really rather avoid that if possible. You're welcome to block me as well, I don't mind at all. It is a large site with plenty of other and much better artists to look at, and It is not my intention to upset people or cause any trouble; you leave me alone and stay away from me, and I'll leave you alone and do the same for you.
